Our Clients
Homecare Services provides social support, respite
care and domestic assistance services to Home and Community Care (HACC)
eligible clients.
HACC eligible clients are people who are frail aged
or who have a permanent disability.
We provide services to all HACC eligible clients
however we focus on services to people with a mental illness.
Homecare Services is funded by the Australian
Government to provide HACC services to people living in the
We were the first private organisation in Western Australia to be granted HACC funding.
We also provide in-home support services for
veterans and war widow/widowers. More information about these services may be
obtained from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) on 133 254.
Our Services
We
provide social support, respite care, and domestic assistance services.
Social
support may include keeping a person company and participating in community
activities. Any client activity costs (such as entrance fees
for the client) are met by the client.
Respite
Care provides carers with ‘time out’
from their caring role and the opportunity to pursue other activities
and interests.
Homecare
Services also undertakes domestic assistance duties including cleaning,
vacuuming, clothes washing, and shopping.
Homecare
Services follows the Wellness approach to community home care which aims to
help maintain (if not increase) the independence of clients, and builds on a
client’s abilities and strengths. The Wellness approach is meant to enhance the
independence, health and wellbeing of clients. It is an initiative of the
Department of Health’s Home and Community Care (HACC) program.
HACC funded services attract a standard hourly fee
(usually $8.00 per hour) dependent on level of income. All fees and costs are
discussed and agreed beforehand. Homecare Services reduces or waives fees (in
accordance with HACC guidelines) where these would cause financial
hardship.
Obtaining Services
Homecare Services makes obtaining services an easy
process. Simply call us on 9228 8877
and one of our support staff will ask you a few simple questions. We will then send
your information to the Commonwealth Carelink who will determine eligibility
and they will arrange for one of the Regional Assessment Services (RAS) to
undertake an assessment (to
confirm eligibility, discuss your service needs, and complete some paperwork). The
RAS will then send the completed paperwork to us. One of our Coordinators will
meet with you at your home to finalise service details. Any fees and charges will
be fully discussed and agreed at this time. After this a Support Worker is
appointed and services commence on a day/time agreed with you.
Professionals
may download our Referral Form here which can be faxed through

Our Staff
All staff of Homecare Services undergo an interview,
referee checking, and National Police and Traffic clearances.
We recruit staff who demonstrate competence through
experience, relevant qualifications and/or training. We seek to only recruit
staff who are considered to have personal values that are conducive to
providing quality care, and who will enhance the dignity of clients at all
times.
We work closely with other agencies and
professionals including general practitioners, staff from public and private
hospitals, and other specialist aged, disability, and mental health service
providers and professionals.
The staff of Homecare Services contribute to a
better environment by undertaking a number of recognised green initiatives.
These include using long
life low wattage light bulbs in the office, recycling paper, cardboard, all
mobile phones, and printer toners, not having an office photocopier, and
turning power points off at night therefore not leaving equipment such as
printers, computers and monitors in standby mode (unnecessarily using power)
etc. In July 2009 we commenced using “100% Green Power” for the office which is
electricity totally derived from renewable sources* and has a zero carbon
footprint. In December 2009 we ordered a Toyota Camry Hybrid from the first production
run of this Australian manufactured vehicle. Other new initiatives will be
added over time.
